Frequently asked questions

pruvia in brief

What is pruvia?

pruvia is arguably the most innovative audit software in Switzerland: it automates audit documentation as far as possible. Audit file, leadsheets, journal entry analysis, inquiries, representation letter, auditor’s report, signature and delivery are created from the financial statements, with AI support and hosted in Switzerland. The auditor concentrates on the actual auditing and assessment. For the limited statutory examination and ordinary audit under the CO (Art. 727 et seq.) as well as special audits.

How does AI support the audit in pruvia?

AI suggests, the auditor decides: knowledge of the business and its environment for planning, audit procedures based on the stored documents, account reconciliation (does the balance match the document?), root-cause search when a trial balance does not balance, wording of inquiries, key controls from a process description, meeting notes from transcription. No AI result enters a working paper without approval. The AI runs only in the EU (AWS Bedrock, Zurich endpoint), pseudonymised, without training, and can be switched off per company.

What does pruvia automate in the audit?

Everything that can be derived from the financial statements, journal and documents: import of the trial balance with account mapping, leadsheets and audit programme per audit area, materiality, key figure and variance analysis, capital situation under Art. 725 et seq. CO, journal entry analysis with 14 test patterns, allocation of evidence from the client portal, open items list, representation letter, auditor’s report with preselection from the audit result in four languages, digital signature and automatic delivery of the report, audit file as PDF or ZIP, and the evidence for quality management under ISQM-CH 1. The documentation is created while you audit; details on the page AI and automation.

How does an audit run in pruvia?

In four steps: Engagement (acceptance, independence, engagement letter signed digitally), Planning and performance (materiality, risks, audit areas with leadsheets, evidence and audit procedures, inquiries, client portal, review by the second person), Representations (closing meeting, representation letter with signature) and Report (approval, qualified signature, automatic delivery). A status overview on every engagement page shows where the audit stands.

Is pruvia an audit software for Switzerland?

Yes. pruvia is an audit software built specifically for Swiss audit firms and fiduciaries with audit engagements. It covers the limited statutory examination under the Swiss standard (SER), the ordinary audit under the Swiss Auditing Standards (SA-CH) and special audits; data is hosted in Switzerland and the AI is operated EU-resident. Whether you call it audit software, an audit tool or a statutory audit application: pruvia keeps the audit file to Swiss standards, including the limited statutory examination and the ordinary audit.

Which audits is pruvia suitable for?

For the limited statutory examination (Art. 729 et seq. CO), the ordinary audit (Art. 727 et seq. CO) and special audits (e.g. incorporation, capital increase/reduction, elimination of over-indebtedness). The entire workflow is guided, documented and safeguarded.

How do pruvia and nunia differ?

pruvia is the software for the statutory audit, nunia the fiduciary software for annual closing and engagements. They are independent sister products for strictly separate tasks – auditing and bookkeeping remain separate.

Can I switch from revio or Revi PS to pruvia?

Yes. pruvia reads the complete dossier export of a financial year from revio (PDF) directly and takes over, among other things, master data, the trial balance from the financial statements, planning, ICS, key controls, audit procedures with initials and date, notes and embedded attachments into the file. For Revi PS and other programs there is no dedicated dossier takeover: you take over the engagements according to the commercial register, import the client’s trial balance (Excel or PDF) and set up the file anew in pruvia. Years already audited in the legacy system are marked collectively as a transition year (“audited in the legacy system”, with opinion and report date). Both routes step by step: Migration from revio or Revi PS.

What sets pruvia apart as audit software?

A status overview on every engagement page shows where the audit stands. The journal entry analysis tests the entire journal against 14 test patterns (journal entry testing). You request documents with a deadline and reminder via a client portal; incoming items land as evidence in the audit area. Quality management under ISQM-CH 1 is run in the same software. Data is held in Switzerland.
